When the student has completed the intake process and becomes eligible for services, Student Access and Accommodation Services will provide a Faculty Notification Letter, which can be accessed through the SAAS AIM portal. The student then forwards the Faculty Notification Letter to their faculty. The Faculty Notification Letter verifies that the student has a documented disability and/or medical/mental health condition and lists the approved accommodations that the student chooses to use in each course. This Faculty Notification Letter promotes an avenue for mutual discussion between the student and faculty. The student is responsible for initiating contact with the faculty to make an appointment to discuss the Faculty Notification Letter and discuss the accommodations. This Faculty Notification Letter is effective until the student is no longer a student at Illinois State University or the accommodations change.
